Once in a village there was a lady by name Rakkamma. She is spending her livelihood by selling fishes in the nearby Town. By the money she was getting in the fish business she was running her family. One day she went to a nearby Town and sold the fishes in the market and in houses. By selling all his fishes, it has taken lot of time and she came to know that the time was night 8’O’clock. At that time she was not having any buses to her village. She has decided to stay in the house of another businessman who was selling flowers.
Rakkamma went along with friend to her house and was asked to sleep in a room, where flowers were kept. But, because of the fragrance of the flowers, she could not get to sleep for a very long time.
She was restless and began to fidget about. Her hostess saw her condition and said, “Hello! Why are you tossing from side to side so restlessly? The fish wife said “I don’t know friend, perhaps the smell of the flowers has been disturbing my sleep. Can you give me my fish basket? Perhaps that will put me to sleep.” The basket was brought to her. She sprinkled water on it and set it near her nose. Then she fell sound asleep and snored all night.
Rakkamma was accustomed to fish smell and the flowers smell was irritating to her. From this story, we must come to a conclusion that we must try to learn good things from the beginning of our life. Otherwise bad things will look like good one and we must fall fry to those habits.
A Stitch in time saves nine.
